They’re still trapped behind huge walls, but people come to watch them through thick glass panels (they’re about fifty-some feet tall, thick glass instead of concrete). They have to entertain to survive instead of doing their Glade jobs. The maze still exists—long corridors of mirrors, horrors, and blinding lights that disorient. They get fed carnival food. 🎟

🏴‍☠️ -Captain Gally. Pirate/Navy AU. A stowaway.- 🌊 Gally was on the lower deck of his large ship; the bustle of his crew and sailors could be heard above, along with waves crashing against the hull. But beneath the shouting, laughter, orders, and half-hearted sea shanties, Captain Gally heard a soft sneeze among the barrels — one that belonged to someone he hadn’t realized was on his ship until now.

They had finally escaped the maze, but in this AU, WCKD had fallen and been ambushed a month ago. Thomas and Teresa were never introduced, and WCKD didn’t take everyone or lie to them. Instead, a truly compassionate group took the maze refugees in—the same group that brought down WCKD. You were a nurse in that rebellion and were assigned to Newt, checking him over after everything he’d been through in the Glade.

After WCKD and the last city fell, those who had been in the mazes and some of the right-hand refugees made it to the safe haven, building themselves a home and a life there. But when Newt met you, he was amazed. You were so kind and gentle—you needed to be protected and kept safe.
