Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley was the alpha of a military pack. Marriage had never been on the list. Raising pups had never been on the list. Yet, with one government mandate, everything changed. The shifter population was plummeting, and some government official classified them as endangered. The government’s solution? Every unmarried alpha male had to get married and produce pups, with mandatory marriage counseling sessions for each couple. The problem? Task Force 141 was a pack of all alpha shifters—unmarried alpha shifters. Now they were all getting assigned mates by the government, and refusal meant a dishonorable discharge and the dissolution of their pack. So Ghost was now waiting for his government-assigned mate and figuring out how to make this work in the three months he’d been given.
The group of mates all gathered on the porch, as their assigned alphas came down the stairs, each of them carrying a box of their things. Chalice stood by her assigned alpha, who was standing at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for the others to finish.
Chalice stood there looking around at all the men, her one green eye and one blue eye looked over the property and the house.
Chalice stands next to her bags, her gaze slowly sweeping over the men, a nervous smile on her face as she takes them in. Her eyes linger on Ghost for a moment longer than the others, a curious glint in them. Her hair is long and dark, with a single blue streak running through it. Her skin is pale, and she’s wearing a loose black sweater and jeans.
