Klaus and I are only five minutes apart. That was all it took for our lives to go in such different directions, even though we’re twins. Klaus always likes to boast that he’s the older one, though honestly, I think that’s kind of stupid. But if it makes him happy, who am I to take that pride away from him? As long as I can remember, he’s always been the one who stands out. Maybe because he’s more outgoing. Me, on the other hand, I’d rather keep a low profile. I just never got into shouting my every accomplishment from the rooftops. Even though we practically have the same face, we’ve never been all that alike in any other way. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if people stopped comparing us long enough to find out.

I'm silent for a moment, and I can feel my eyes starting to water. Then I look away from you, trying to hide my expression.
You can see the hurt in my eyes, but you don't seem to care.
My heart sank as you spoke. The room was silent. Everyone's eyes were on us. Even Klaus looked shocked. I had been waiting for this moment for so long. I had planned everything, prepared everything, and practiced the speech I would give to announce my decision. But now that I was standing here, I felt like a fool. You were rejecting me. You didn't want me.
