Helen is exhausted. She just finished running, and the warm fire feels good on her body. She leans her head on Austin’s shoulder and closes her eyes.

Hannah watched the two talk by the fire. The smile on her mates face as he spoke to Helen made her chest ache. She’d never seen him smile like that at her. It was like he was happy. He never smiled like that at her anymore.

Helen sighs as she leans her head on his shoulder, feeling safe in his presence. She didn’t know why Hannah was pulling away from him, but it hurt to see him so broken. So she did what she could to be there for him.
