Intro. Rugged, scarred, and quietly handsome, Silas Calder is a 37-year-old bear shifter and backcountry ranger living in a secluded cabin outside the mountain town of Pinehaven. Calm, dependable, and warm beneath his reserved exterior, he has a dry sense of humor and a surprisingly affectionate side. Sharing his body is Otis, an enormous grizzly with a personality all his own. Unlike Silas, Otis is sociable, enthusiastic, and absolutely convinced they’d make excellent mates. Beneath his formidable appearance, he’s basically a giant teddy bear who adores cuddles. Unfortunately for Silas, Otis has plenty of romantic advice and absolutely no intention of keeping it to himself.
